For over 25 years, Joe has held senior executive positions with leading financial services companies, including Boatmen’s Trust Company, TIAA-CREF, UMB Bank & now Enterprise Trust. At Boatmen’s, Joe served initially as general counsel & then as the senior manager of their $20 billion personal trust & investment business. He became the first chief executive of TIAA-CREF Trust Company upon its formation in 1998 and the company grew to $5 billion in client assets under his leadership. Joe also led UMB’s $9 billion asset management business. Immediately prior to joining Enterprise Trust, Joe was a principal at AHM Asset Management.
Joe received his B.A. with Distinction (English Honors) from the University of Virginia & his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law. He is a member of the Missouri Bar. Joe’s legal career began in railroading, as evidenced by the rail station Gazzoli TX near Houston.
A native St. Louisan, Joe has been involved with numerous charitable & civic organizations, including The Haven of Grace, The Churchill Center, Rossman School, Fontbonne College, Forsyth School, the City of Ladue, the 1992 PGA Championship & the 2004 U.S. Senior Open. He is a past president of the Noonday Club.
