Internships

Kickstart a Meaningful Career

Join Our Team

Our internship program provides college students with a full-time opportunity (40 hours per week) to take on real-life assignments that offer practical experiences within the banking industry.

Our internship includes opportunities to:

  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-departmentally
  • Get immersed in the daily operations of banking
  • Gain exposure to executives and mentors
  • Understand their role and its impact within the organization

In the program, each intern is placed in a department of the bank, reporting to a manager/mentor. Interns are encouraged to ask questions and stretch themselves to gain the training and development to take their career to the next level. At the conclusion of the program, interns have the opportunity to present learnings and project results to executive leadership.

Below is a list of departments where interns may work:

Business Banking: Identifies and supports smaller, privately owned businesses in managing their finances efficiently so they can grow sustainably and access the funding and tools they need to operate successfully.

Credit: Evaluates a borrower's ability and willingness to repay a loan by analyzing financial and non-financial information about the borrower to assess the risk of lending.

Finance: Manages the bank's financial resources, accounting records, plans, reports and ensures financial stability and regulatory compliance. Interns may participate in month-end close activities, financial and regulatory reporting, forecasting, modeling, and evaluating or implementing cost-saving initiatives.

Information Technology (IT): Manages, supports and maintains all information technology systems and infrastructure. Interns may work on the Help Desk to triage and resolve system or technology issues for our associates or may work in Cybersecurity to protect our computers, networks, programs and data from unauthorized access, attacks, damage or theft.

Marketing: Performs activities to help us connect with clients, communicate value and drive sales to grow the business. Interns may work in Sales Enablement, Digital Marketing, Content or Graphic Design on projects such as developing, deploying and analyzing an email campaign to build brand awareness.

Small Business Administration (SBA) Servicing: Services loan programs that are guaranteed in part by the SBA (a US government agency that partners with banks to help small businesses access financing), reducing the lender's risk and making it easier for small businesses to qualify and access funding, and serves as an alternative option for borrowers who do not qualify under traditional bank terms.

Specialty Banking: National sales of industry-specific lending and deposit solutions tailored to meet the needs of niche types of clients such as healthcare, insurance, HOA or property management.

Treasury Management: Offers a range of specialized services that help businesses control and optimize their financial operations — specifically cash flow, payments and risk — to support the stability and growth of a business.

Underwriting: Evaluates and assesses the risk of lending money or offering financial services to a borrower and helps determine whether we should approve a loan or other products and services under what terms.

Other departments may also be available to interns. Summer internship applications are available via Workday starting in September for the following summer.

Trey Harris, Early Career

"I started as an intern without banking experience, then became a CAP associate, sharpening my credit knowledge and fully diving into the Enterprise culture. Now, I am two years into my position as a Business Banking Officer and still learning new things everyday. My favorite thing about the job is that no two days are alike, just like no two clients are alike. Helping our clients achieve their goals through the products we offer is by far the most valuable aspect of working here."

Trey, Business Banking Officer
